Oruro Markets & Shopping

The majority of shops in Oruro are located around the city center, such as around Plaza 10 de Febrero and along Calle Bolivar. There you'll find llama & alpaca wool bags, clothing, gifts or souvenirs and many other handcraft items.

Also, along Avenida La Paz there are numerous small shops where artisans sell souvenirs of carnival masks or costumes and many other handcraft items. For cheaper items try some of Oruro's markets. (See below)


Mercado Campero
This market has a variety of items such as; handcrafts, bags, clothes, cosmetics, food, and much more.

Location: Calle Galvarro & Adolfo Mier


Mercado Fermín López
This market has hardware items and food. Also, tucked away in this market you'll find a type of witches market, where you can buy unusual items such as ingredients for folk medicine remedies, herbal treatments for various ailments, dried llama fetuses and many other unusual items. The vendors are more than happy to explain the usage of each item.

Location: Calle Ayacucho & Montes


Artesanías Oruro
This shop offers a good selection of high-quality souvenirs and handcrafts from the Oruro department and around Bolivia.

Location: corner of Calle Galvarro & Adolfo Mier, in the city center - few blocks from Plaza 10 de Febrero

Open Hours: Monday-Saturday from 9am-12:30pm & 2:30pm-6:30pm


Hawkers
Hawkers sell cheap indigenous musical instruments, that make a good souvenir or gift.

Location: near train station
