My parents think Bolivia is dangerous to travel

I'm a 20 year old girl traveling with another girl my age to Bolivia. My parents seem to think this is an extremely dangerous idea, but I, however, have faith that we will be fine as long as we stay smart about traveling. Do you have any suggestions? I'm looking to talk to an expert about traveling through Bolivia.

Bolivia Travel Warnings & Safety Tips

Bolivia, for the most part is a safe country to travel. There are many travelers that visit Bolivia each year and have a great experience. You just have to know where you are going and which places to avoid. It is good that you are traveling with another person. I would recommend getting a Bolivia travel book, such as a Lonely Planet travel book guide or there are plenty of other travel books you can find at Barnes & Noble on Bolivia.
