La Paz Golf Course

The La Paz Golf Club is considered to be the highest golf course in the world, with the course ranging in altitude of 10,750 to 11,000 feet (3,277 to 3,342 meters) above sea level.

Founded in 1912, the course is located in the Andean Mountain range of Bolivia in the city of La Paz and sits in the upscale Mallasilla suburb of the city.
La Paz Bolivia golf course club - World's Highest Golf Course - GolfingThe La Paz Golf Club features 18-holes of high altitude golfing. Because of the elevation and light air, judging the distance can be difficult for golfers used to playing on courses at much lower altitudes.

The par 72 course attracts golfers from around the world mainly because of its elevation. One of its notable holes, known as "Lunar Hole", is the 12th hole (par-3), requires a shot of atleast 130 yards to clear a 50-foot drop over a moon-like landscape of jagged rock formations and pinnacles.

A quick trip from sea level to play golf at these altitudes without acclimatizing isn't recommended. People can experience symptoms of altitude sickness such as headaches or nausea due to the oxygen depleted air if they are haven't acclimatized to the high elevation.
