Flight and Taxi Ride Into La Paz

Drive down into La Paz

Drive down into La Paz

We flew from Santa Cruz to La Paz. Luckily, the weather was nice that day. I would say flying over the Andes Mountains made me nervous. Although, it had some incredible views of the rugged mountains. The sight from the air as we flew into the city was incredible. Set in a canyon you see a huge city, guarded by snow-capped Andean peaks surrounding the city.

We took a taxi from the airport to get to our hotel near el Prado, the main street. The drive down into the city is spectacular and at the same time is kind of nerve racking, you wind down and around these narrow steep roads. You come to a curves and see big drop offs just off the road with no guard rails in some places to protect cars from going over. My nerves were tested a little because I am not to fond of heights.

La Paz on TV
by: Sherry

I saw that on TV the other day, where they featured La Paz on the Amazing Race on CBS. Looks like a neat place to visit.
