Los Espejillos

Surrounded by the dense tropical forest the place derived from a small mountain river, which has carved and polished the rock to create a beautiful landscape.
This place is a popular getaway among the locals from Santa Cruz and is also popular among backpackers who like adventure and to hike.

There is also a hotel near the site called Hotel Espejillos, where you can sleep. The hotel also has a restaurant and many other activities you can do.

You can get there through a tour agency or you can take the adventure trek there yourself. However, after a heavy rain the last section of the dirt road from the river may become impassable, making it difficult to reach.

To get there catch any micro going toward La Angostura or Samaipata and get off just beyond the town of San Jose. From there you have to cross Rio Pirai and hike 16km along the dirt road and you will see signs that lead to Espejillos. Or take a 4WD vehicle along the bumpy dirt road that leads to it.
