Bolivia Internet Access

"Is there internet in Bolivia?"

The easiest way to get online in Bolivia is at an internet cafe. Bolivia internet cafes can easily be found in the larger cities of La Paz, Santa Cruz, Cochabamba, and Sucre. Smaller towns have at least a couple.

Internet cafes in Bolivia usually charge around $1 per hour (7Bs.) In smaller towns, where there is less competition it can be around $2 per hour (14Bs).

The vast majority of them are high-speed, but internet speed seems to be inconsistent from one cyber cafe to another. For the most part, most cyber cafes are prepared to print out your documents as well as upload your digital photos.

Some of the better equipped internet cafes also have internet phone or Skype service, which allows you to make phone calls from the internet, which is the cheapest option of calling home.

In Hotels, just about all five-star and four-star hotels in Bolivia have internet access in some form, usually in a business center with a high-speed connection. Some of the five-star hotels may offer access through your labtop as well or you can go to an Entel office and hook up your labtop where they charge about $4 per hour (30Bs.)
